Man, what a tale this has to tell! Would you opt to change the dial if offered? I see this glorious old girl with a overhauled movement and correct hand set on that dial. But, certainly could see why you may go the full restoration route, certainly would sky-rocket the value. I'm just a fool for patina!
Well it was a one owner watch, and the tale is that it spent 20 years at the bottom of a bits-n-bobs drawer with no crystal installed 🤦

So the tale isn't really a very glamorous one, and I'm 100% going to get a NOS replacement dial if TH offer one at a realistic price. I think they'll insist on a like for like replacement though, which is a slight shame as I've ended up with two T versions (3647T and 2447T) quite by chance. If I had any say I'd love to get an N or an SN for this one.

Happy new year

I have no resolutions...

Im wearing the vintage ploprof. The watchmaker says it's waterproof but it just does not feel right taking this in the ocean during vacation.

So I will once again take the modern ploprof. The modern ploprof can handle 1200 meters, so I might test the limits this trip.

Aside from my customarily having chosen to wear two wrist watches (one Omega, one Rolex), I’ll set one of my Hamilton 992Bs to WWV Fort Collins, and welcome in the New Year that way. Not my fanciest pocket watch by any means, but very accurate, and accessible. Steel case, melamine dial. A bit of a work horse.

Yes, sir...it's a good machine...my 992B says "Happy New Year". 👍

Heirloom Elgin 14k Hunter Case, 11j, 6s, 1890.
Found in the Attic 25yrs ago.

Vortic is making me a bespoke for the wrist with the same dial, hands and 15j 6s movement from 1892.

My daughter‘s cat was trying to tell me something.

Speedy Tuesday, taken on Monday 1st of ....Feb??? It seems I have a unique “transitional“ that skips January completely.
Think I shall go back to something less complicated like my Railmaster LE...whatever

First Speedy Tuesday of the year so it has to be the ST which I collected from my AD last Thursday and never expected to own.
