It was a great day a short but very enjoyable walk for me and wife Hawkshead to latterbarrow it had a 250 meter ascent at the beginning but the views and the sausage rolls at the top was worth it... as for the smiths for me one of my best buys this year considering the prices now for an original today these are priced very well and the build quality is very good and the time keeping as been excellent....
44mm Moonwatch Co-Axial. I’m a man of simple tastes so it’s either the Speedy or my Rolex GMT Master II BLRO. That’s my rotation, unless I bring a Seamaster out of retirement. I wore Seamasters exclusively for a decade or more and have never been a true collector. But I do accumulate. My pattern has been to stick with one watch for ~5 years or so and eventually replace it with a new model. Never had the slightest interest in Speedmasters. My feeling was that I needed the water resistance of the Seamaster- I was a diver back in the day. Speedys are for astronauts and I’m earthbound. When I got my GMT2 BLRO (grail watch) it awakened something in me. Plus all the talk of us going to Mars, the shows and documentaries on tv, etc, rekindled my love of space exploration. The release of the 44mm co-axial Speedmaster line got me to take another look and BAM!! Hooked immediately.
