Bought it because I like it. And I actually like it a lot.

Historical issues with Shinola aside I work with them and they're a great team and truly dedicated to their mission statement which goes beyond watch making.

They do employ people and they do take care of their employees and genuinely care about their growth. So yes the movement is from Switzerland and some components are from China, they're still an American company that is trying their best at promoting American manufacturing. S
I like the fact that their bike frames come from Waterford (Wisc), I own a custom Waterford and can attest to their awesomeness. I like that much of their offer is locally made. I like that they are assembling in Detroit and employing locals even if they are outsourcing watch components. As an RGM owner and a watch enthusiast who is rooting for a rebirth of American watchmaking, I really take exception to the haters who respond to articles on the subject of NA watchmaking especially those who expect small producers to price like a mass producer. Everyone outsources to some extent. Good on you for supporting them!
