Also visited the Temple of Zeus and Hadrian’s Arch. .....and the modern Olympic Stadium... .....and look what my son got at the Athens airport on the way home...
Very cool, sir...very "tooly". What's that crown on the left side? Are there two main springs in that machine?

Seeing your daughter bare footed reminded me of living in Hawaii. My kids lost dozens of pairs of shoes and flip flops at school. At a parent teacher conference I mentioned this and the teacher took me over to the biggest box of shoes I've ever seen. She said I could take my pick. All the kids lost their footwear. When I moved back to the mainland (Maine in October), my son insisted on going bare footed everywhere. Schools up here don't like that approach. Story over. Wearing this today:
From a HODINKEE write up: “This Aero-Compax offers more than chronograph capabilities, its sub-register at 12 o'clock allows to keep track of an appointment, which is pretty unusual and totally awesome. The Aero-Compax is one of the more unusual models produced by the conservative maker, Universal Genève.” The port side crown adjusts the appointment sub register ... pilots used it to plan maneuvers.
Love the facets on this, what I believe to be an early 60's Seamaster and my latest purchase. I won't know for sure until my watchmaker opens the back on Monday. Before I found this site, I never would have considered such a thing in my vintage watch purchases. I appreciate all the knowledge and the great people like ChrisN I have found here. Thanks to you all. I learn 10 new things each day. McK
