Gorgeous watch. Love the hands and the art deco(?) numbers, gives it a real 'Casablanca' feel.

It was going to be a quick site visit then into the office for a few hours but that had all gone out of the window by 9.30. I'm now waiting for the return of a piece of broken down plant before I can get to the office, where I will still have 3-4 hours work as a colleague is off sick who could have picked up the slack ... I can already see it being a take out tonight or, perhaps, a quick bowl of pasta. The Mark II's chrono is still running from timing this morning's coffee ...

Almost 48 years ago to the day on November 14, 1969, Richard "Dick" Gordon sailed to the Ocean of Storms and yesterday at age 88 Captain Gordon took his final voyage. Fair winds and following seas to the man that made the JB Champion bracelet with horned end pieces cool.

Just as a brief followup to a recent post of my newly arrived Seiko SARB017. The supplied strap is generally acknowledged to be the weakest part of the package, so I decided to order an alternative. Changing straps is about the limit of my technical watch prowess. Add that to my essential Scottishness and the strap in the pictures seems to meet all my needs. For those interested, it's a Geckota Nylon Sport (Gold). It arrived within 36 hours of ordering and came securely packaged with three springbars and a free polishing cloth. Not bad for the princely sum of £12.00 :D
