My grail watch is getting some wrist time today. I've been on a Speedmaster kick for a couple weeks now. I guess I have TWO grail watches. Can you say that? Are two grails possible? Sounds a little blasphemous to me. The GMT2 Pepsi is a favorite of the folks at my local Starbucks. Even the female baristas want one. They all tried it on and made the appropriate "oohs and ahhs" over it on their wrists. It had been sitting idle for more than a week so of course it needed winding and for the time to be set. Incredibly easy on the GMT2 with it's crown position for moving the hour hand only. Use the minute hand adjustment to move both the hour and GMT hands until the GMT hand is right. Then set the minutes, and finally the hour hand with the hour-only position. Anyway, I have ordered a Versa watch winder for either one that I'm not wearing. Swapping back and forth will be a real snap once this arrives.
It was supposed to be raining here today and not snowing until Friday night. Good thing I got all the plants and vegetables covered up yesterday anyway
Early '50s 14K Hamilton Gilbert with original strap and solid gold buckle.. This came with the original inner box and price tag. Apparently the original owner wore it on a bracelet but kept the strap. He apparently didn't wear it much.
Right now it's navy blue, though that'll probably change when I look at it in the sunlight on my lunch break
Mine is on its way home for repatriation with six of his buddies. Time to run the gauntlet again but not quite as cheeky this time
While on my bicycle ride, decided to stop at the pawn shop. It's a -71 lollipop prototype. Super Super Rare. Fortunately for me the pawn shop supervisor wore a Rolex. The lollipop hand is tritium. I wonder what watch it was originally installed? Bonus was the 1039/516.
