It's pretty neat seeing all the different types/styles of watches everyone wears on a daily basis! Today is the typical for me.
Taking my neighbour out for some fish and chips one of her favourite things to do and at the age of 92 she's a great vintage so I've put my oldest watch on a 1959 Longines...
Sinn Tuesday for me! On a side note I am really loving Snapseed for editing btw And I swung by an Rolex/Tudor/Omega AD today to try on a BB36. I expected to fall in love but the opposite happened. I couldn't stand it. It wore so much smaller than I expected and could wait to get it off my wrist. So while I was there I didn't pass up an opportunity to play with some other things. Just for size reference while waiting for the BB41 to make it in stores And I've been in love with the E2 for a few months now so I gazed dreamily at that for a bit And for sh*ts and giggles I tried on an Explorer 1. I've read over and over about how much owners love this watch but looking at it online I couldn't understand why. But once it ended up on my wrist I felt some deep disturbance in the WIS force and I think I'm in love with it now. It is just so incredible balances and comfortable. And the lollipop is lovely too! After I peeled myself away from the Rolex booth I naturally ended up over at the Omegas. Slapped on a GM because it was asking me too. (Still love the blue dial and gold bezel version better) And I had to play astronaut for a minute too. So happy SpeedyTuesday from the AD! I need to pick up A LOT of overtime if I'm going to make AD visits more often.
Almost forgot to post my first "Speedy Tuesday!" Ever since I bought it I have been waiting for it to finally be a Tuesday, and then I let it halfway sneak by.
Today was always going to be a bad day. My job takes me to some fantastic places and then other times I can find myself, quite literally, wading through sh#t. So, the old LIP comes out on days like this. It's yet to miss a beat and built like an absolute tank. Certainly not haute horology but I do have a soft spot for this true beater.
A hearty "congratulations" are in order regarding it being your first "Speedy Tuesday"! I've had my modern Speedy for over two years now (a 51st birthday gift from the wife unit and kid units)...and I always look forward to "Speedy Tuesday" since it's a weekly routine...similar to a daily winding routine regarding Speedy. I don't know what it is about routines...but if I don't have daily and/or weekly routines, my life feels like chaos.
A half hour long shower; sliding into the oldest and softest pair of jeans you own and a nice new cashmere sweater .... puts the world to rights again. Be happier still in ten minutes when the chilli and lime King prawns arrive. Not that I'm watching the clock ....
