Soon on a strap close to you. A black, double ridge shark skin strap with grey seam - matching the subdials.

The Speedyorite is impossible to photograph. In reality this dial beats almost everything.

How did you get that A 386 off so quickly? Or is it on the other wrist? ;)

Long story involving a deal with my wife. For some reason she thinks the A 386 should be a present and I was willing to sell my soul to hit "buy it now."

Hmm... sounds like a first wife. :p

    When's your birthday?
Please don't tell me it's in a box marked "do not open 'til Xmas."

No box, but that was her position. I don't consider the negotiations to be over.

Dinner, flowers, heels, purse. Some combination will work.

Good God, I thought only my mother did that. As an act of pure altruism, I am willing to burgle your home for a nominal fee. Let me know when you and the missus are next out and leave the key under the mat. Oh, and tie up the yorkie - that thing is vicious. Meet me at the diner around the corner the next evening. You can keep it at the office.

    My God, she's a terrorist! And we don't negotiate with terrorists. I like LouS's plan - there's a Larry-David-type genius about it.

There's the ineffable mystery of the female mind. I mean, how do you even come up with a delayed-gratification concept like that? Ok, for fun, if it's the week before Christmas. But it's freaking August, man! This is upsetting me to an unexpected degree. I need a drink.

I'll get the watch before Christmas. She knows it, I know it. I just have to play along for a little bit to make her feel like she proved a point. Until that time, the watch will remain on a Zenith stand in the middle of the shrine.

Ineffable women are tough... I've always preferred the effable ones.
Yes, they are masters of delayed gratification... the hold-out is their bread and butter... and I fully understand this when there is something in it for them, but this... this is just for sport! I too am driven to drink! But at least I am wearing my newly purchased time piece while doing so!
    Harrumph!

What, out in the open, taunting you every day like some kind of no-touch horological lap dance?! Oh, she is diabolical! But I think I understand it now... you'll have it before Xmas, but there will be another price to be paid first. I'm beginning to respect her genius.

Best part is he bought his own gift that he's not allowed to wear because she's gonna give it to him. :p
