Few are aware of the connection between Girard-Perregaux and Consul, before it went to producing "questionable" watches like today, so the old ones tend to have a surprise inside. This one has a GP 42.4 movement inside and even the dial is the same as the GP Chronometer HF Gyromatic. Never mind the date...they didn't bother with a quick set function and I don't have the heart to keep a vintage 36k movement in the winder.
