Cheers for the positive comment and the interest It's 45-46mm (haven't pulled out the caliper) of pure 70's exuberance Paul
Still wearing this Seiko today will be day 5 after overhaul so far so good only one minor issue One day the second hand hesitated at 1:55 (barely rubbed on the minute hand) the watch only did this one time. Since I have to pick up another watch at the watchmakers I will have him correct this minor issue. Since he did the service I will let him correct his work. Easy fix but sometimes it can be a pain in the butt to correct.
Thanks! I've actually had two custom straps made specifically for JLC's (Reverso GT and this one both have 19 mm lugs); had to, since I have two different deployment clasps, 18 and 16 mm wide, so I had to improvise on sizes. This is one of the custom made 19 mm lugs - 18 mm buckle ones, that just changed color a bit with age.
Trying my luck again at the vintage RC / Vintage watch pairing And extra brownie points to who can name that iconic 2wd (never get enough of that Racing Dial btw!)
I really like alarm watches. I think they appeal to some childish part of me - the one that likes surprises like jack-in-the-box toys or wind up trucks that lurch and move in crazy circles or those cheezy joy buzzers that used to be advertised in the back of comic books. I also love finding a vintage watch that looks unworn. I bought this one some time back but put it aside. This morning while going over the ticking inventory trying to decide on today's watch I remembered this early 1970's Wakmann. I wondered why I put this immaculate old thing aside until I looked at my wristie - the chapter ring/crystal retaining ring was put in slightly skewed. I didn't notice that little "feature" when I bought it. I didn't see it until I photographed it the first time. I've been intending to take it to my watchmaker but had buried it so deep in the sock drawer I forgot about it until today. Funny how my photos show thing my eyes miss... Anyway, it's funky, clunky and kind of junky:
