Made a quick change because the 166.032 with a sparkle dial just got back from servicing (I decided not to change the crystal). Interesting that the day wheel is only in Spanish.

Seeing that Hamilton reminds me of a watch (grandfather's) I had in the early 90s when I lived in HI. It was similar (maybe a Hamilton or a Lord Elgin) to yours, except it had a locket feature. At the 6 orientation, there was a latch, when pressed, that flipped the main body of the watch open so you could put a picture in.

I took it to the Kailua jeweler for a service. A few weeks later I get the call that its ready. When I went in to settle up, he handed me an envelope that had a heavy gold, diamond encrusted antique lady's watch. When I pointed it out to him he said "oh, that's my mother in laws watch, how did that get in there"? My ticket number matched the tag on the envelope. Somehow my watch got mixed up with others and he lost track of things. I never did get it back.

During one of my many stops to see if it turned up, one of his beautiful blonde daughters (one of the identical twins) says "maybe we can give you my sister as payment."

It boggles the mind.

At some point the guy said "Take which ever watch from the store cases you want." I wound up with a hunk of junk that I gave away a short time later.
