122 degrees summer of 1990. Never been hotter. I was working in Mesa at Big Two Toyota as a technician in an open air shop. Talk about crotch rot!
on that record breaking day I was a roofer hot mopping roofs. What a B$#%H that day was. I was young then. [emoji17] Try that these days I would not likely make it off the roof.

Keeping my modern Fe shielded, three hander, no date complication theme going today. The least popular and first to be discontinued 116400 Millgauss is hands down far my favorite of the 4 styles. Apparently no love in the market but for me there's something great about a matte dial, non-cyclops, beautifully weight balanced Rolex. Love the extendable clasp on hot days too.

Day 44 on the road with these. I love them all unconditionally, but my wrist is screaming for variety.

Just pulled this out of the UPS box minutes ago. My first ever watch with that crown thingey on the dial! I'm sure it's been brushed and polished a bit, but for a 25-year-old watch it looks crispy to me.

It took about a year of looking to get to this point. My grail list is pretty small, and this makes one down with very few to go.

My 42mm Planet Ocean is laying on my desk right now and it looks gargantuan by comparison. I seem to be well-suited for 36mm. 😀

Gee that leather strap really suits the Explorer. May have to reconsider this. Thank you for sharing

To digress a bit, my 7 year old son is also wearing something vintage today - a Christian Dior Monsieur polo shirt. His uncles wore it in the 70s. My wife wore it in the 80s:
