Zenith kinda day!

Definitely one of the sharper examples of the cal 143-6 pilot's chrono out there. Kudos.

1953 Tissot, cal. 27B-21. This is a watch that only an idiot would love. It was fished from the ‘Bay for less than $10 and featured a broken crystal, tarnished hands, and worn-through lug holes. It cost twice what I paid to ship it to me, and twenty times that to service it. Clearly, I have the cost-to-value part of this hobby completely backwards.

But the idiot in me fell for that chocolate brown flinqué dial, the unusual tulip lugs, and those sharkstooth markers still tarnished with 63 years of time.

After all these decades this is still one of the most beautiful and simple watches produced. 1aa95c812c7a675875e5d23aef936a2b.jpg

Thank you & dare I say (yep) Rolex quality.
If I HAD to choose a couple from my collection this would be 1 of them. Craftsmanship is amazing.

This evening, while the GF is out, I'm doing the horological equivelant of wearing the wife's underwear around house... 😲

Liking the feeling so far... 😬

I know how you feel! I bought a Certina at a farm yard sale for $2.00 (she was asking 50 cents). Replaced the rotor post, re-chromed the case, crystal, crown, stem, had the dial refinished, cleaned it. I figure I have ~ $200.00 tied up in it, but I love it!
