And now for something completely different, today: In the morning, Kelek Tdb 1376: In the afternoon, Kelek Tdb 1369:
These calibers weren't very successful at the time and i'm not sure why. The unusual position of the subdials, easily confounded with the cheap pin pallet chronos? None of the big players used the movement? Contemporary of the quartz crisis? Distribution and marketing problems? I don't know but they are cool and a symbol of an era
I have read somewhere that they had certain issues with wear and reliability when introduced. They also came "late to the ball" and without the support and use of any of the key (and surviving) players of the killing 70s. The dimensions made it the smallest automatic chronograph when launched! I have chased a couple, but never landed any in the collection so far. Cool layout for sure!
I did not think the old lume was bad, but it really does look nicer now! Enjoy! Coincidentally, I am wearing one of its cousins today:
AT Master Co-Axial for the first half... Then, the Speedmaster 125 came. Anyone knows how the watch module is secured within the case? This one's keeps falling when not on the wrist!
