My best 5 watches wouldn't make the cut in many of the serious watch collections of this forum.
But, I do have many top notch Gallets. My watchmaker turned me on to Gallet many years ago when it was still an easy to find the brand (and, pretty cheaply).
Gallet Multichron's were a favorite watch for many Geologists and Wildcatters because of the lower pricepoint compared to other reliable contemporary chronographs.
Armed with this simple knowledge, I've had good luck over the years finding Multichron's @ Pawnshops and antique dealers in the East Texas Oil Field and the West Texas Permian Basin. For example: I have a very good condition Multichron 45 which was owned by the famous wildcatter, Clem S. Clarke. That's a pretty cool one.
The attached watch was owned by another famous wildcatter named Dale Crockett. It's in average condition but it's a fairly uncommon Multichron (case) and I have all the provenance (books, boxes and papers). Bought it from a jeweler in Midland.
I'll wear it today so I don't break the rules of the thread
