Waltham produced an "0" sized movement called the Ruby. As I recall, quite a high grade for an "0" size. You dad's watch shows up in the "Bible" as a Ruby, and is listed as having a 14-karat white gold case, with vitreous enamel Arabic numerals on the bezel. Circa the late 1920s. I can see evidence on the case lugs of him having worn this watch a lot with metal bracelets on it! Good to see you are now wearing it on a strap! The styling of this one, the Hamilton "Piping Rock", and numerous other similar styles by Waltham, Hamilton, and Elgin are highly sought after today. Nice!
@Canuck...good information, sir...thank you! 👍 Question...what is the "Bible" that you speak of? I should probably purchase one since I'm the caretaker of three of my dad's vintage watches...and it would probably be a good informational resource as well. 👍

This one's for @Mad Dog. "Ride The Lighting" cassette.... good memories from back in the day.
Dude!

If there was a 'quadruple like button'...I'd hit it!

That's just freaking AWESOME!

Quick change for new arrival...

What a great addition you have there. 🥰
The dual Telemeter/Tachymeter track is killing! Such a nice crisp dial, beautiful hands and beefy case. Lemania CH27 ticking inside I presume?

Congrats on that one!

Cheers,

Good morning
Hello Garv,

Just noticed the middle track (red numbers). What is the function for this track?

Cheers,

Illinois Bunn 19j motor barrel from about 1923..... notice the spokes on the center wheel are fully radiused, as are all of the wheels in this watches train. A detail I've not seen in the few Patek movements I've managed to get my nose into.

In their day the Americans really did make the most beautiful movements and to this day we've really never seen their equal.

Lovely things and so very undervalued.

I'm not 100% positive, but I believe it is used for calculating distance by timing the interval from seeing a flash to hearing the resulting explosion.
If someone else knows and could weigh in that would be appreciated
