I spent two and a half hours trying to polish the scratches out of the crystal last night. Nearly there, will finish the job tonight馃榾


Hi. How do you polish the scratches our? My zenith's mineral crystal has a few scratches I'm hoping to remove. Thanks.

Sorry to inform you but this dial is not an original one! Simple the original watches have only Cyrillic alphabet letters.

You can't polish the scratches out of a mineral glass crystal - unless you have the equipment an optician would use to grind lenses. Replacement mineral crystals are cheap and quick to replace if you have the right tools (or just cheap if you get a watchmaker to do it for you)

Having said that, if you have a Zenith Defy, they are neither cheap nor easy to find.

I have never bought Polywatch but is it any different from any fine abrasive in a liquid solution such as Brasso or Toothpaste? We used to use Brasso and oil or WD-40 for lapping in injector nozzles/seats and it got a mirror finish.

Thanks for the tips. Mine is an EP TV screen. Not sure how easy / hard to find a replacement for that

Brasso works well but Poliwatch is the best. Go on amazon you can get it for the price of Brasso. I speak from experience.
