Weekly chore, winding and setting a 110 year old Howard (Boston) tower clock. A bunch of us restored this clock 25 years ago, and I have been winding it and maintaining it over those years. Today, I was wearing my 40 year old Omega Seamaster Quartz as a comparator. The Howard runs within 2 minutes a month! Modern Quartz are a bit more accurate, and certainly don't require the same effort to keep running. But when every Quartz watch in existence today is in a land fill, the Howard should still be running.
This again today. What blows me away is how it seems to reflect its surroundings. When I posted it several days ago, the dial reflected the sunlight (it was a sunny day). Today is a gloomy, stormy day and the watch shows it:
