Vintage 70s Wakmann in great condition. Love the dial color on this one and the red second hand. It's quite small by today's standards (36) but the size works well and the day/date is a nice feature.

Somehow this just really speaks to me...

Me too..! It is fast becoming a favourite. So retro, with a clear lineage and heritage - yet not very old - and still affordable.
Zenith has been good at this with more models - here is another of my favourites:
