Went to an other vintage car show this morning ... Saw this magnificent Alpine Renault A1600 (the little white bug just ahead is mine actually 😁 ... makes me feel kinda lost in translation !!! ::facepalm1::)

Anyway, this Alpine was sold originally in 1971. The actual owner bought it in 1979 for the now ridicule price of 4000€ - you'll be lucky to find one for 20 times that price nowadays - and still enjoys it daily 😎

... oh wait, look who's coming ...

... yep, the world famous DrStrong, well known Watchprosite Rolex forum moderator, aboard his beautiful MGB convertible, king of coolness 😀

Let's do the mandatory wristshot then...

Wait a minute ?!? Oh boy 🥰

... Speedmaster 2998-1, 1959, sporting a wonderful exotic chocolate flavour dial. This quick poor picture certainly does not do justice to the watch :\

How fortunate ! Friends, vintage cars and watches \o/ - isn't life wonderful 😉

I visited Hooters yesterday and spent some money on art...

Here's the centerfold art...

I need to move the art to the garage before Monday. Monday is when the boss unit (wife) comes home.

Hey @Mad Dog, My Nivada prefers his platinum blonds in marble!

For the rest of the day, I'll be wearing my Speedmaster FOIS:

(Old photo)

This was my first good, mechanical watch and the search for it was what started my interest in watches. I bought it as present for myself when I was stationed in Afghanistan (picked it up when i was home on leave in november 2013) so it has a bit of sentimental value as well.
For more than 10 months, my girlfriend and I have been renovating our house we bought in November last year, and this april, I lost the watch somewhere - I searched high and low for months, but for nought. I knew it could either have been stolen by an electrician or plumber (unlikely), misplaced among all the stuff we'd packed when moving or, gulp, thrown out by accident!
You cannot comprehend how relieved I was when I, an hour ago, pulled it out of its hiding place, a toiletry bag where I must have placed it to shelter it from the dust and dirt "on site"... Next week I won't have a chance of wearing it until Thursday, so I'm really looking forward to that! Feels great to have it back!
