Borrowed for a few moments ... My step-Dad's AV-1 ... He got it some time in the 70s along with an outboard motor, as payment for a car he was selling! Unfortunately he sent it for a service to Breitling about 10 years ago and they swapped the hands 😲 ... Still a lovely watch....

Been looking at those Breitling...admittedly jealous and sad

Sorry for posting to many pics today. Just getting used to the beauty of this watch, you would not think it is a basic sports model lots of detail and quality.

I had thought of waiting for the in house version, but if that is around 2017 I think they wanted it all in house by then they may not only change movement but may make subtle changes to the appearance. It is individual taste but I don't like exibition back, from 2007 to 2012 they had the wave dial and the bezel then was not to my taste. I liked the wave dial on the older models. The current model with gloss dial, applied markers having metal surrounds, the sculpted bezel on the side, applied logo, screw end links on braclet and the ceramic bezel in my opinion is perfection.

I am over the moon with this watch.

Finish this 'very Franken' mod this morning. Lemania 873 movement, stripped, cleaned and oiled yesterday. Then after a night of running to check everything was ok fitted the reduced Sinn dial with Omega hands. The case is Bucherer with Omega crystal and crown 😁

If you're ever thinking about selling it, then: DIBS!

Happened to be wearing my Speedmaster Moonphase doing some chores at our summer home, when all of a sudden the Illinois Chain o Lakes/Fox River “Poker Run” occurred.

This is an end of boating season parade of power boats. I think they run from one marina restaurant to another, drawing a card at each and somehow playing poker. Hence "Poker Run".

But they sure make for an interesting and LOUD parade. My guess is there were well over 50.

My favorite was this tricked out pontoon that must’ve been packing over a thousand horsepower and was totally keeping up with the cigarette boats. Must have been going 65 mph (100 kph)!

And it’s all clean and legal fun as supervised by the local constabulary. YaY!
