From time to time I try to improve a watch. The tasks range from cleaning the case by hand or in an ultrasonic cleaner, polishing the plexi, changing the strap or bracelet, up to simpler works on the movement. Sometimes I have to define the work to be done by a watchmaker. The series of my last WRUW posts documented the results of this care on my early Autavias. Stay tuned, I will finish with another rare (non) Autavia. Cheers, Mick
Trying the original 'Gay Freres' bracelet today: Just a bit loose on the tightest position, but I'm not about to bend/pry any links to shorten it further!
Suuuuuuurrrreee, buy this and then jet off to Europe without showing her off in person. Will your doorman let me in to take a peek? Safe travels my friend
Wearing Speedy Gonzales on the Rothco protective band...due to "being volunteered" to offload 48 cubic feet of mulch for my in-laws' yard.
Today I'm wearing 16 vials of radioactive gas. It's the watch I wear when I'm feeding alligators, or working with hand tools. No alligators today
Don't forget to look for the lunar eclipse tonight. Most in Europe, Africa, and the Americas should be able to see it. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/sci...rt-on-Sunday-Monday-and-when-will-it-end.html Of course it's supposed to be completely cloudy here near Chicago so I've made the best of it by fully setting and wearing my Speedmaster Moonphase. Tonight I'll be enjoying Lifetime's new "The Speed Edition" which just came in. YaY!
Speedy Pro! FYI: bought the t-shirt from Target http://www.target.com/p/men-s-nasa-t-shirt-black/-/A-14666057#prodSlot=medium_1_1&term=nasa+shirt
Well, 415 posts to catch up on. Will get to those later. Full moon in that background. Been wearing this one for over two weeks.
