Just finished off Michael Collins' book this morning wearing the Speedy from cover to cover. Probably the best book written by an astronaut. While Collins doesn't mention the Speedmaster by name he does reference checking his watch and using the chronograph 6 times throughout the book.

Here he is checking the 7th time after signing the pice for my collection. Sometimes the guy that facilitates some of my signings will ask about watches. Collins said "I only wear the best $10 watch you can buy at the local drug store."

Awesome
I started a thread on a Swedish watch forum where the members could vote what my next watch should be.. I gave them 4 choices and they had the chance to nominate a fifth. The outcome was this marble Swatch and now I've promised to wear it for a weak. Lucky me 🙄
The sound of this watch is worse than a OysterQuartz, tick----tick----tick----tick----tick

I know the Holy Grail reference can be over used, but maybe this Monty Python side-by-side can make folks crack a smile anyway…??? 😎

Today I'm wearing a diver with its characteristic helium relief valve. I'm an enthusiastic SCUBA diver but will likely never dive below 40m, and certainly will never breathe an exotic tri-mixture of gases while sitting inside of a diving bell. Thus, for me, the He valve is entirely superfluous. However, last evening I met fellow OF member @tpatta and found out that in a past life, he had been a commercial diver and had indeed required the utility of the He relief valve! I honestly thought I'd never meet anyone who had use for the valve, and what do you know, I meet a fellow OF member who had used, and needed one! The distinguished gentleman on the right (in the second photo) is @tpatta, and I'm the dweeb on the left.
