@Giff2577...OK...that's the style and color NATO I'm looking for...for my Longines Hour Angle chronograph (Mr. Long Jeans). So I ask you, Sir, what brand is that NATO?

    Oh...nice watch too!

Really, replacing the dial is the best option. Not sure I would be too hard on your watchmaker, as I have had some issues myself with the markers coming off these dials.

Often when I remove one of these dials from the packaging, the tissue paper they put on the face side is stuck to the dial, and on the one shown above when I peeled the tissue off, some markers came with it. It's almost like they put the dial in the package too soon after printing it, when it's not completely dry yet. If this happened when he was removing debris off the dial, it's possible the marker was not attached firmly because of the same problem of tissue paper sticking to it, so it came off way more easily than it would normally...

Needless to say, I am very careful with these...

Two weeks on the wrist now, and I think I am addicted to it. I'm wondering when (or if) the novelty will wear off. I still plan on putting a nicer strap on it. Caliber 355, date at 6:00, circa mid 1950s. Resurrected from a box of Omega bumper automatic parts. NOS Omega case. image.jpg
