Father in law gave me this several years ago, and I wear it regularly. Many of you probably know the story of the "Viceroy" Heuer Autavia. In 1972, Heuer partnered with the Brown & Williamson Tobacco Company to promote their Viceroy cigarette brand. Heuer was not selling well, and some say the cigarette promo saved the company. Magazine readers could clip a coupon, mail in a Viceroy cigarette carton end flap, and purchase a special edition Heuer Autavia for just $88. At the time, the standard retail price for a main-line Heuer Autavia at authorized dealers was roughly $200. (probably similar to the cost of a Speedmaster or Daytona).
Learning that apparently during especially hectic times (crazy work week) I feel compelled to wear a different watch every day. Normally, I’m a once a week or two turnover kind of guy.
Not sure what the psychologist would say about all that but apparently today it’s Fancy Friday.
