The 6th of my summer watch finds, what I believe to be a early 60's Girard Perregaux with a gyromatic movement. I bought it at the thrift shop for $5 because when I shook it the second hand started moving and I know this movement is highly respected and I didn't have one. Full disclosure: the minute hand doesn't consistently sweep as it has a loose cannon pinion. It will go to my semi retired and very reasonable watchmaker tomorrow. He still charges me $65 for automatic movement services. So, eventually I will have $70 in this watch, but I think it will be worth 3 times as much and still a good buy. I also think this dial and hands are very legible and the watch will be a keeper. Sorry about the long write up.
