Was in the deer woods most of last week. Am home today cleaning up, putting things away, while smoking a venison shoulder on the grill and wearing the watch of last week's adventure.

Other watches, some new, have since been acquired as alternate "beater watches," but when the going gets tough the Glycine gets going ... since sometime in the 1980s when it was given a $5 valuation and thrown in on some now forgotten gun purchase at a local pawn shop. No longer have the firearm, but the watch is still ticking merrily.

I love Christmas and all it represents. But I have "Something Wicked This Way Comes", a bit late for Halloween and a bit too soon after "A Day of Infamy". But to some, this watch represents honor, duty, overcoming fear, disregard for self preservation so long as others may live, traits of the bushido. They will not comeback, they will not be welcomed back. They will not carry parachutes. The fortunate will carry a gun with one bullet, but there will be no time to use it. They will carry the gunto. They were known as "Hotaru", the Fireflies glowing spirits with lives too short.
