He replaced my eterna sonic date wheel with a metal one. He’s very reasonable and good at repairing these watches and seems to have parts for them too.

 

This just in. It looks much better in the flesh than it did on EBay.

 

I tried to get one, but was told there is a 2 year wait. I can't wait that long to mow the lawn.

I haven't worn this one in quite a while. Why? Because the setting stem separated from the main watch mechanism and I keep putting off driving on the dreaded 405 Freeway from the San Fernando Valley, to Beverly Hills where my preferred watchmaker is located. So I set an alarm this morning for a few minutes before the time that my watch had last stopped at, then restarted it by rocking and rolling the winding rotor. And voila!

I had forgotten how comfortable this watch+bracelet combo is
