Seen earlier this morning, Ol' Sangamo with its uniquely,
"super-sexiest" pocket watch hands of all time is now sharing duties this afternoon with a recent acquisition, being in the form of a 1908 19-jewel Hamilton 944. The Sangamo Special is a most ample 17 size watch, but the 944 is a ponderously glorious 18 size watch!
We have two members here who can produce the most novel and useful leather pocket watch lanyards, DaveK and Duracuir1. Both are practical and stylist ways of toting pocket watches daily. I generally prefer them over the watch chains for actual use. DaveK's complement the 16 size (and 17 size Sangamo Special) watches so well and Duracuir's provides a sturdy mate to the large 18 size watches.
Either member's lanyard work adds much to the enjoyment of firing up vintage and antique pocket watches for a grand day out.
The Hamilton 944's movement shot. I'm in the middle of a one week test run to see how accurate it proves to be before a service. So far, so good.
