Having fun editing from home today! Well, it's fun for the 5% of the time that I feel the thrill of creative success.
Really enjoying the recently acquired Zenith EP Surf. Huge thanks to the honorable gentleman member @amcclell for passing the baton.
What's the date of manufacture for this lovely Zodiac SW of yours? Since the hands lack the spine I am assuming 1962 or earlier.
Anyone else just rotate through watches throughout the day when working from home? I can’t stick to just one.
I luv the satisfying "ka-chunk" sound that quick-set date changes make on a Valjoux 7750 (Omega cal 1164).
Is 1962 the year Zodiac went to split lume hands containing the separating spine? I'd not discovered the date for the change in Sea Wolf hands. I've guessed that it's an earlier variant Sea Wolf, perhaps as far back as mid to late 1950s. The movement does not feature a hacking feature. I don't know what year the hacking feature was introduced to the Sea Wolf. Some information found on the internet (you know how internet information is) says the first year Sea Wolfs were the variants that had no hacking feature. That would be 1953-1954.
Happily groaning with Gruen on a Friday. The late afternoon sun reflected off the brickwork of the house lent a pleasant warm glow to the photo.
My fiddle group plays for a banquet/dance tonight. I need a watch with some “bling”, so it is the 18-karat and rose gold Omega Speedmaster reduced that will be pressed into service.
Not an obsession with me. I’ll don a watch that I have just added to the collection, then I’ll wear two watches for a couple days, then back to just one.
