·Time to doff the Speedmaster which I have worn for two weeks. Bloody thing annoys me! I forget to wind it once in a while. I did, again, yesterday! Time to change to one that winds itself. Bought at a farm yard sale for $2.00 (she was asking for 50 cents). This had been a farmer’s watch, and looked it. Didn’t run, dial a mess. (To those who might like to point it out 🤦, yes, the dial has been refinished!) it needed rotor post, condition, mainspring, re-do dial, chrome plate case, crystal, crown. Worth repair. An emphatic NO! But I like it. It has the venerable Kurth Freres calibre 25-651 self-winder in it. A movement I quite like.
