My 33 year old Speedmaster 345.0808 with the calibre 863 movement in it has lost one second in 22-hours. Do I need a modern generation model with a co-axial movement as a replacement? I don’t think so! Worn 24 hours daily with chronograph running. Gotta love obsolete watches!

This morning, 4 seconds slow in 36 hours. Good enough for me!

Retirement gift Tag, on 2 stitch leather strap, I'm not a great fan of rubber straps, I'll probably get a similar colour rally strap in the new year

I’m not well versed in Speedy details, is yours the Speedy reduced? It’s looking good!

Expecting a new arrival later today. Consider this one as foreshadowing...🙄

Cool contest by Huckberry. Didn't win but a fella in Washington state is enjoying a nice watch and some cool memorabilia. Cool story--neat little video on the history of the Explorers Club.

@DaveK ,

The 345.0808 is the first Speedmaster produced that was fitted with a sapphire case back. It was introduced in 1980. The movement is a calibre 861, but it is gold plated because of the open case back. The movement is a manual winder, and designated as a calibre 863. This morning it is 4 seconds slow in 36 hours. Not much incentive to go out and buy a co-axial in search of better accuracy. This one is 33 years old!
