A Flieger for some fliegering today, my first cross-country flight covering about 100 miles. My arm is still sore from being continuously on the controls for an hour 😀

I turned 65 today and so it seems fitting to be wearing my birth year watch. It was made three weeks after I arrived. I’m happy to report that both of us are still ticking and in very good vintage condition.

Thank you for the birthday wishes. Early retirement in the U.S. is generally at age 62 (the earliest age that one can qualify for a Social Security pension). Most people retire at age 65 because that is the earliest age that one can qualify for Medicare benefits. I'm fortunate to have a very good job that I enjoy so I plan to work another 2 or 3 years before I retire and focus my full attention and time on my family, travel and hobbies - including watches!

Sounds like a nice plan!

Swedes usually retire around at the age of 65, but now pushing to 67...
But my "stupid" little brother who's is turning 54 this year pulled the trigger and is now retired..
He wants to focus on his Iron Man...(not the comic/movie character)!
