Very excited by the latest addition to the collection.

What's the material on that bezel?
Ceramic...metal...bakelite...?

I've realized over the past few years, that if I had only one wrist watch, it would be this one. The Astronaut is highly accurate, easy to read, useful with its GMT hand and rotating bezel, and attractive. This one is from 1963.

We’ve had a ‘scorcher' in London today although I appreciate that the temperature doesn’t compare with where many of you live

Walrus;

You need to recover from your latest bout with the epizootic and avoid that stuff like the plague! You're needed on deck here for watch and cloud photos and stuff.

Meanwhile, this is dedicated to you.

Hey...a guy can dream, right...

No need to dream when the reality is this good! That Angelus Datographe must have one of the nicest structured dials I have seen, ever ...

My daily wearer for the week has been on my wrist since I got it back from service last Saturday - a 1973 Longines Ultra-Chron Ref. 8455 with the 6651 movement (25 jewels, 28.800 bph). Lost three seconds ... in five days. I just didn't set the date yet, because it has no quickset.
