Sundowners..

Coffee..
Pardon me for asking, but I'm curious as to what the central indicator and the other two crowns on your JLC are for. Cool strap too. Is it leather and if so what type? Thanks in advance.

No problem,
The central indicator is the alarm set time.
The top crown sets the alarm time and sets the date.
The middle crown rotates the internal bezel.
The bottom crown winds and sets the time.
The strap is Stingray which I had custom made here in Vietnam by a guy in Hanoi.

A few days after a brutal lawn mowing experience my mundane speedy running fine.
I’m at a MD appointment, it’s the type of MD where people walk out with life changing diagnoses. I’m lucky I’m not facing something like that just finding out if my battle with an infection is coming to an end or if it’s spreading. Either way I’ll be fine it’s more of an inconvenience and pain than anything else but I see other people in the waiting room who are obviously suffering with major illnesses and it’s quite sobering as it could just as easily be me. Down here we don’t deal the deck we play the percentages.

Morning Forum! Two straps from George at Genteel Handmade; a bespoke dark grey suede on the Speedy, and a grey cordura from the ready-to-wear section. I don’t play, “If I could only have one watch,” very often, but the 3861 on the dark grey suede typically wins when I do. Have awesome days/nites.

My birth year 1959 Longines-Wittnauer 23Z with the 14k K&E case…. Really a nice dressy watch that keeps great time. It’s my only vintage watch that I actually have the original box and tag.

Exactly as I expected got some semi bad news which put me in a mini pity party but as I’m waiting to see the lady who sets up treatments the lady I’m front of me was being set up for major surgery and she was saying “I’m trying not to cry as I set this up as I feel like my whole life just changed.”
Instantly made me stop feeling sorry for myself but I may need to sit home today as I got an injection and now my head is spinning like a SOB don’t know if I can drive to work.

Going with this Angelus Chronodato today….fun fact, the red hash marks on the right hand sub-dial were used for timing pay-phone billing increments.
