Time to rest the late 1950s Gruen Auto-wind which I have enjoyed for the last ten days. Time also to choose another watch to wear for a few days. My Accutron 214 Spaceview. This one was resurrected from parts acquired from a deceased member of the collector fraternity who loved taking Accutrons apart, but was not able to put them back together! Movement, case, case back, hands, I plucked everything I needed from his accumulation, serviced it, replaced the crystal, and this is the result. I suppose it is from the mid to late 1960s, but the case back is not original to the case, so that is a guess. Anyway, I love it!
Oh, the internal minute track might be misaligned by half a degree or so (circled). Should I worry about that? 😉
It was just after watch photographing time when I came out of a doctor's appointment this morning.
Got home and found a cicada skin on a bit of catnip. I don't recall ever seeing cicada skins in May before. We called them "locusts skins" when I was a kid.
