AWCI build-a-watch school ETA 6497-1 phlieger for today…even though I’m not phliegering because I’m on days off from phliegerville…
Mint
New Watch Monday with an Orient Kamasu. Don't know how well it performs for I've only worn it a little over three hours today, but it seems quite nice for the price, at least externally.
It's Aarox's fault! I'm laying the blame where it belongs, on his shoulders.
More later after it's been given its shakedown cruise.
As just out of the box in the post office parking lot.
Dial is dark marina blue in sunlight.
I recently bought myself a modern moon phase, but there’s just something extra special about a more vintage moon.
I think this even applies to the mysterious ‘Trematic’, circa 1970:
I’ve been waiting for this post today! Looks like it fits you well. Enjoy it!
Here are photos of celebrities wearing the Pulsar P2 back in the day.
I ordered the dark blue Ray II having the dial like yours Aarox, but was sent the Kamasu in error. I was charmed enough by the dial upon seeing it in person that I determined to just keep it rather than send it back At the price, I may even order out a black dialed Ray to go with it.
Apparently the three Orient models, Ray, Mako, and Kamasu are all the same basic watch: case and movement, with same straps or bracelets. It's only the dial marker styles that differ.
"Collect all three, kiddies!"
I initially envisioned the watch with its factory bracelet. The Orient bracelet seemed to garner mixed reviews, though I was ok with its appearance. I generally don't care to wear watches with bracelets even though I really like the looks of some watch bracelets. So, I opted to go cheap with the rubber strap. I may scare up an Orient bracelet later or simply order an Uncle Seiko bracelet in a style that catches my attention.
