I've always wondered whether the Day-of-Week ring is lurking, out of view, under the dial. Or was the ring left off altogether? Any insight into this pressing question?

It's a pretty tight window but I don't see anything immediately adjacent to it. Just darkness.

...but then again, 7750s with day wheels seem to have a small gap between then and the date anyway, so I might not be able to see it anyway.

Unlike other movements that have them very adjacent to each other, 7750 based day/date models seem to have a frame or dial sliver between the day and date. Junghans calls it their cal J880.2 for both my model 27/4600 and their other models with day.

Calibercorner.com says that the J880.2 can come with and without day of the week. I figure that means from a movement perspective, not from a finished watch feature set.

So it's plausible that it's not there on my model, bottom line is I don't know! 馃槣 We need a watchmaker who's opened one to tell us for sure!

Phew...you don't want to know how much time you made me waste on this! ::facepalm1:: Switch to 2254.50 to clear the pallet!

Well, if it's any consolation, top marks for effort! This may remain one of life's great unanswered questions 馃榿

This has become such a favourite that my wife has been commenting that it always seems to be the only watch on my arm.

Well just to dispel that notion here is another from today's swag that just arrived.

The Citizen has a prismatic lens which you can barely tell from the photos but no apparent cracks so I am hoping I might be able to retain it with judicious polishing.

Back from an overdue service, and currently trying the tropic look.
