Hey and good morning Forum! I had been wondering about the “new” rubber Speedmaster strap on the Italy Special, and recent posts on another thread prompted me to do some strap swapping this morning. Hope y’all have great days!!
Pulled this one from a dark corner of the watch box. I've owned it for 5+ years but doubt I've worn it more than 5 times. It's just a lack of wrist presence I guess. The dial photo doesn't really show this, but either the crystal didn't include an AR coating, or the person in charge of AR coatings the day this crystal was made came into work hungover...it's nearly impossible to photograph outdoors.
The true beauty of this watch is what's seen on the reverse side. For a relatively inexpensive manual-wind watch, that's a heck of a treatment of the movement. If it weren't for the steeply curved lugs I'd be tempted to just wear it dial-side down 😀
Just another day with the new presage. I learned a valuable lesson wear a watch a minimum of three days after purchase to keep an eye on it. I have bought watches, set them, and they appeared fine so I put them aside for months then go to wear it and find an issue. More so with vintage of course. Anyway it continues to match the iPhone time (by eye) and I’m still amazed the stock seiko leather band is tolerable. Usually I replace them prior to wearing it. No rush with this one.
My wife made a valid argument that when I spend money on watches I’m only thinking of myself not getting something she can enjoy so I came out to buy cat litter and flowers for her. She is also requesting nice dinners (I assume she means me cooking) but I will be stopping at the decent restaurants around work and bringing home nice dinners on occasion, I think I got this figured out now. Fifty fathoms here we come. These flowers cost me 6.99 only the best of course
