Wearing an Adam Lewis modded Speedmaster today. This started life as a brand new 311.30.42.30.01.005 purchased from an AD in Perth in December 2019. On the last day of 2019, as a final tribute to the 50th anniversary of the moon landing, Adam did some tasteful mods; a 35th Anniversary dial and handset, 50th Anniversary crown and pushers and a new straight writing back. I recently put a new 3861 brushed bracelet on it (a perfect, tight fit) to complete the mod, for me this makes about the nicest non-black dial Speedmaster. Any Speedmaster with a silver/white/creme dial is a bit special since Omega has never had that many models with these kinds of dials.

Nothing but the pride of the watch box today. My Christmas gift to owners of the brilliant cal 71 who may be unaware of this feature: the date can be set both forward and backward.

Damn, I need one!

A surprise gift from the love of my life a while back and she just happened to mention this afternoon that she had not seen me wearing it for a while, needless to say it is on the wrist this evening 😀

I should add that I really do like this piece 🥰

Sailcloth strap?

Brand?

It’s the original Omega coated nylon fabric strap that came with my “poor man’s” 3861 Moonwatch…

LATE ENTRY: Addition of “fabric” in the text above.

I like to call it that since the 310.32.42.50.01.001 reference is the cheapest of the 3861 Moonwatch iterations…but I happen to like the coated nylon strap the most and that’s why I purchased that reference.

Good to see you here, sir! It’s been a while…hope all is well your way. Also, you’ve inspired me to do some action figure high five pics [with watches] with my multiple GI Joes…but I’m at work so I can’t do it right now…until then, here’s a file pic from a few years ago…

Yeah, taking photos of your watches with your dolls while flying one of those big birds might be no bueno, amigo. So what's this crazy talk about you wearing a Korean War vintage Breitling? I've been in or near Cincy a half dozen times in the last year. The next time, I'll try to give you some notice and maybe grab lunch. Do you ever fly into Indy? We are doing great here...have an exchange student from Spain. That's been fun. Hope you and the wife unit and now grown kid units are well.

Figures you'd get the GI Joe Anchor Clanker Adventure Kung Fu grip with flocked hair. I think they called them "bearded GI Joes" when they came out. I've got a couple of old Joes mixed in with the SSPs, Wizzzzers, Matt Mason, Johnny Lightnings, Hot Wheels. The 60s and 70s was the golden age for cool toys.
