Celebrating: long awaited releases from Fleet Foxes and Lorde. Both are brilliant.

This one played on the CBC around the time I arrived in Canada; I still have a fondness for it. I'mlistening to it today on Canada Day.
"Log driver's waltz", written by a Canadian railroad draftsman, performed by the McGarrigle sisters:

I've taken quite a liking to the Radio Garden website..you can select from over 10,000 radio stations around the world from using a google earth type interface. Go to the country you want, and click on a station 'dot'. Pretty cool, I've been listening to a station on Maui the past couple weeks..relaxing island music.

Catching up on admin, listening to "Ladies and Gentleman" - George was a pretty fantastic musician, writer, and producer.

Spinning the wheel on of my favourites... and it was kept from the No1 spot in the UK, by the SpiceGirls with "Wannabe"...

Yup. Love 'Older' in general...IMHO his best album. From what I can remember scouring the inners of the cover, he did just about all instrumentation and production himself. Wizard...

George's house is fast becoming South Oxfordshire's answer to Pere Lachaise, fortunately George's fans are not quite as "out of it" as Mr Mojo Risin's

Dusting off a vinyl copy of "Living In the Material World" by George Harrison. The CD version sounds quite thin by comparison.

Pulled this out tonight. An under appreciated Prog Rock chestnut I've not listened to in years.

I think so too. It's his masterpiece but it's not for everybody and I don't listen to it often - demands a chunk of emotional commitment to be heard properly.

Great prog band. I was playing Journey To The Centre Of The Eye in the car only last week.

Tonight, after a solid Queen dance session with my three little girls...
