The great Lionel Hampton Quartet with Oscar Peterson, Ray Brown and Buddy Rich. Recorded in 1953 and 1954 in NYC, this is one of the best vibe recordings I've ever heard. Pure mono but the energy in the quartet is dynamic. They really don't make them like this anymore.

A gift for me today from my wife a favourite Hendrix album , then a a mix of this & that as our two granddaughters came to see us for a few hours . They love vinyl records when they come over , not sure if it’s the novelty of it but who cares it’s a shared experience & one I’m sure they will remember
