A good friend recently traveled to Belgium and picked up a bottle of Westvletere 12 for me, which is highly regarded and in limited supply.
We plan to sample that against the Orval that I recently discovered.

A cognac, a margarita, an Indian beer, a rum and coke, another rum and coke, yet another rum and coke and the cats are high on catnip.

Edit: half a bottle of wine and some drinks

J, the only time I’ve been to Murica was to Florida on a work conference about 20 years ago.

Brought a souvenir back….

Not sure about outside the US, but here we can still get the Mexican recipe CocaCola that's still made with cane sugar. You can taste the difference.

Agreed I grab those as well. They do have an American version made with cane they make at Christmas time in the US as well.

They do! Ironically I think they are made for Passover since the corn syrup wouldn’t be “kosher”

Both are great and I hope you enjoy them! Orval has a dairy farm associated with the monastery and a cafeteria… where they serve Mac and beer cheese. It’s a religious experience.

Bacardi Gran Reserva Limitada, Gurkha San Miguel Robusto keeping company with my SM300.

Maybe a Son Collins Robusto or Padron Handmade later.

Not yet. My friend wanted to wait until after we had our bourbon tasting. The last one was affordable alternatives to Blantons. This time we did a blind tasting of 5 where each couple brought a favorite bottle (and 1 rum drinker who abstained). Woodford Double Oaked prevailed.

I'm principally a Scotch drinker, like Irish and Bourbon whiskey enough, but my buddy got me into sipping rum.

I don't drink too much these days, but I recently did a project for the maker of this pitorro, and ended up bringing a bunch of it home with me. It is really fun to sip on after a long day of work.
