Tiki, bay-bee!
Though I MUCH prefer the Don the Beachcomber version, starting off today is Trader Vic’s version of the Zombie.
It tastes pretty similar to Pat O’s current Hurricane, but less syrupy when made with fresh ingredients.

This inflammation pain requires medication.

1.5oz red vermouth
1.5oz white vermouth
1oz rye whisky
Lime

Who knows? After 2 of these I may finally take off my Hamilton. After three weeks.

Got this as a freebie with a wine club order...

We've had some Gretzky wines, and they are not bad. This however was terrible...now I'm not one ofr "cream" drinks like this, but my wife likes Bayleys, so she liked it more than I did, but neither of us were too impressed.

I'd rather have a beer, and most of the time she would too...

Not normally one to give wine tips but for anyone based in the UK I would say this is a nice, honest and fresh Malbec for only £10 at Sainsburys.

Was trying out some homemade limoncello just now and realized that it matched my watch ::psy::

This batch is coming along nicely. It's been in the bottle only three months, so not super smooth yet, but should be great by Christmas. I think it's finally lemony enough after a few pretty weak batches. For those curious, my recipe:

- zest 12 Meyer lemons, steep in 325ml 95% grain alcohol for a month. Be sure to use a microplane zester, you really don't want the white pith.
- strain lemon peels out of the alcohol.
- combine 300 ml of the lemon infused alcohol with 250ml simple syrup and 200ml water.
- put in bottle for 6 months or more
- chill in freezer and enjoy!

Cracked open a Cave Springs Riesling Ice Wine, from 2013:

Wonderful colour, and it was superb...

It's a little less sweet than the typical Vidal ice wine that is made here, and has some amazing complexity.

It’s Kentucky Derby Day, so we’ll be drinking bourbon today. It will be Blanton’s for me.

Gordons and Schweppes 👍

These bottles have been in the house for ever and a day and I may just try a sip soon but I do value my eyesight 😉

That McGuiness CN Tower whisky is interesting. Haven’t seen one of those in ages. The distillery in Toronto is closed now and McGuiness was bought out. Apparently fetches a good buck on the secondary market...

Appreciate the information, we actually have two bottles of the CN Tower, perhaps time to consider parting with them ?
