What a superb night! Your trip is reminding me of many a crazy night/weekend pre-kids! 50% of me is jealous as anything, the other 50% says I wouldn't have come through my thirties with the same liver if that had continued!😀

I get what you mean about the 50-50 pleasure vs guilt thing 😀

Troegs Sunshine Pils tonight.

This is a great light hoppy beer. Very crisp, with the hops and a little sweetness blending very well.

Mumm Grand Cru, a specific magnum only bottling based around the 94 vintage, yet with a predominance a very high qty of reserve wines from 95-02...produced only for the Australian market ... a blend of Chardonny and Pinot from the Grand Cru viilages of Ay, Avize, Bouzy, Cramant and Verzenay ... very enjoyable but we import Champagne which is both better and less insanely expensive. Plus 2 Wendourees, 2000 and 2014, one of the very best wines from the Southern Hemisphere ... the 2000 in its prime, the 14 showing great promise but needing a lot more time.

Not as nice as the Lebanese stuff we got back in the 70's but very pleasant indeed.

Such an incredible story behind that brand ... some amazing results in blind tastings too, oft compared to the best of Bordeaux... Ive only had half a dozen vintages amd personally found them all a bit volatile but maybe my sample size aint big enough ...

Catching up with a very good mate of 20 years (wearing the gshock I sourced him prior to deploying, he's now a winemaker) Im wearing my Le Forban, my son his nos Alpha with Stowa mvmt.

Drinking an 04 Lehman Margaret Sem, stunning, Balgownie 82 Cab, still youthful and lively, 43 yo vintage port from the Clare Valley, in its dotage but not yet in a wheelchair, plus a bottle of Shiraz which I made 15 years ago having started with Ambonnay Champagne...

A very good night.

Tonight a dram of Laphroaig Quarter Cask, pretty good... still a reasonable dollar/tastebud proposition unlike a lot of the rest of the market which seems to mimic the vintage watch market
