Last night was an awful Beaujolais...gift from my wife's boss...

Bad bottles of red often end up as marinade for the beef cubes in my stew. Bad bottles of white sometimes end up in the sauce for mussels.

What are you drinking today? We have a WRUW and WRULT thread, so I thought a thread for the beverage of your choice would be interesting. In honour of Dean Martin, who said "I feel sorry for people who don't drink. When they wake up in the morning, that's as good as they are going to feel all day", let's restrict it to those beverages of the alcoholic variety.

I'll start with this single malt, Cardhu 12 yr. Well suited for a mid-afternoon taste. Nothing too complex, but smooth with a bit of sweetness. Certainly good but not great.

Supping some Japanese Whiskey I received as a gift some time ago. I used to live close to most of the big Scotch distilleries (Glenfiddich, Glenmorangie and others) and always wanted to give Japanese Whiskey a try. Not half bad, but won't beat a good single malt!

In the barrel is my first attempt at aging Bourbon...another couple of months and I'll give it a go!

2007 JJ Prüm Graacher Himmelreich Auslese. Pleasantly surprised that this is drinking so well and developing secondary flavors under 10 years old. Yummy!

Grahams Port and plenty of it. Starting with the 5 year old, then 10, 20 and finishing on a 40 year old.

You're gonna be RIPPED by the end of the day. That's a good way to do it.

Mine assist in keeping my kitchen sink unclogged...if they're not worthy to drink...they're not worthy to eat..but it has to be BAD

coffee on the front porch on a nice Canadian Christmas morning, warm enough for just a jacket.
