I've had quite a few 05 Bordeauxs 2-3 years ago (it's my wedding year so I make it a point to have some of it in stock). Haven't had any this year though. How long did you decant, @chronos ?
I feel it's worth the extra but it's my opinion. I have had the 23 which is fantastic as well. Best bet is give it a shot you can't go wrong
Got a solid recommendation from a fellow port drinking fool - NV Real Companhia Velha Quinta das Carvalhas Reserva Tawny Port. Bought one bottle this morning when I stopped at Total Wine to round out the Mix 6 deal that saves you some money to buy in quantity. After a short decant and sampling, I went back to Total Wine and grabbed their last 6. At $17.99 a bottle ($19.99 in quantities less than 6) this is a QPR (Quality Price Ratio - the wine equivalent of Bang for the Buck) slam dunk!
