@ulackfocus 1985. The year my daughter was born and she was with us to drink it. Unfortunately I have promised her some of the bottles.

I wish I could drink Bordeaux. The pencil shavings odor turns me off immediately. 馃檨

However, I do know that bottle! What year? We brought my last bottle of 2000 to a BYOB last year and everyone enjoyed it (except me because of my stupid hypersensitivity to certain aromas).
I have the same issue. Not too many things effect it but it is one major pain in the ass at times. And a little embarrassing at times.

1985.

Nice! Did you know that was "Wine of the Year" in 1988?

Did it still have the graphite / pencil shavings odor?

Not to my nose it didn't. My wife just broke into a big smile when she tasted it. Her comment was that it had "no aftertaste". By that she meant it had none of the bitterness or woody taste, just the taste of the wine.

Going with this Malbec, good daily drinker at about $15. I think some of the best wine bargains can be found in Argentinian Malbecs

Had a bottle of 2012 Textbook Napa Cab with hibachi short ribs while Windy had JJ Pr眉m Riesling (2011 or 2012 - I forget which). Safe to say several bottles of both will be purchased for the cellar.

There's a 1995 Caymus Special Selection for my after work consumption this week. 馃榾

Just an outstanding dram that will put you on your ass in a hurry.

That stuff is strong but good. I don't usually put ice in but I do with that stuff. It's inspired me to go get myself a Dalmore 15. Pics to follow

An Islay fan. Good for you. I don't hate them but I prefer Highland malts. I guess I'm soft....
