There must be as many gin stills in New Zealand now as craft beer makers - just the ticket on a 25C Sunday afternoon...

Been watching the T20 series against the Aussies on ESPN. Jealous of the weather and the crowds. Gah, I miss live sports.

Wonderful tasting led by Jill one of the Blenders at Compass Box.

I took notes if anyone is interested. But the king street artist is a great easy to drink scotch, should be extremely affordable. The Glasgow kings street is a peated 10% Laphroig that keeps its Laphroigness but makes it way more accessible.

the LE’s are stupendous.

Cinsault-led blend from Swartland, the region where South Africa’s most interesting wines are produced. Very young though.

Went to a chocolate factory.

Which lead to a distillery for some Rum Honey

Add them together and 🥰🥰

Had to go back to replace the bottle that went missing during the week......

Agricole means it’s made from sugar cane. Although it’s not a legal definition unless it’s made in French territories..

that stuff looks great!

Finding 0% options for my dry month 😀

On the lis
Maes - tested, quite good
Jupiler - tested, okish
Stella Artois - tested, good but 25cl bottle instead of 33!! (All others are 33!)
Leffe Blonde - tested, very good!
Affligem - to be tested

Tonight's option:

This was, all things considered, a pleasant discovery yesterday.

I thought those only existed so that they can advertise on race cars.... I had no idea they actually sold it .

Ok... Affligem 0% tonightN. Not bad, but I think I prefer the Leffe 0%

It will deserve a rematch though!

Got myself a food parcel to lift the lock-down blues. Not sure which one to try first but it will shortly be Wine o clock. I had a Zoom call with a friend in Australia today and they had a Shiraz / it was 28 degrees in their garden ( 6:30pm their time) - Being based in the UK I stuck to Porridge... but I was tempted.... Cheers on Saturday everyone.

I wanted some Headspace today and I got it , blended with Scotch whisky and a lovely smooth drink with an even better aroma . With a cheeky intruder in the background, the Wife’s Chenin Blanc .

We went with Château Charmail Haut-Médoc- blend of hand-picked Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, aged in small oak barrels. Spicy and robust - would have it again (which is good as I got two bottles). Followed up with a Whiskey - standard Jameson blend which is a good reliable pour.

Welcome to dry March?? 😀
I just can’t take hangovers I may have a Guinness on St Patrick’s day but I’ll probably put it off until Friday, even one beer throws me off, believe me it wasn’t always like that.
