Otherwise known as a few of my favorite things!!!! I need to see if this is available anywhere in the US!!!!
An unusual rose from South Africa -- 100% pinot meunier from Yardstick Raised by Wolves in Stellenbosch. 2600 bottles produced. Pale orange, almost gris, color with a unique waxy pear-melon flavor (tasted better than it sounds)...
Easy drinking everyday red from Calitzdorp in South Africa's Klein Karoo. This is made with surplus tinta barocca grapes that are normally used to make South African port-style wines.
Tonight's vino. Another unusual South African red blend from Eikendal in Stellenbosch. Mostly shiraz (75%) with small amounts of petit verdot (21%) and sangiovese (4%). Young, but drinking well already.
It’s a Delerium Tremens Christmas! A 4-pack of tasty, strong Belgian beer comes with the most festive beer glass. After a couple of these 10% babies, you may mistake the reindeer for, I dunno, pink elephants....
Long night in Madrid. 1.5oz Cognac .75 Madeira .25 maple Syrup 4 dashes bitters (recommend angostura) Egg white Dry shake, then shake with ice and serve. top with shaved chocolate. I topped with chocolate bitters 2 dashes. I used Pechaud barrel aged, but I think the additional spice in angostura is better. You could swap the egg white out for 1/2 n 1/2, but I’m not sure how much. Maybe .5 oz to start? Or pull the fat and do with out either... maybe warmed a bit? Love it, wintery. Little bit of spice, warming. This is going into my permanent go to list.
Oh have they renamed Noel? It's been such a long time since I've even seen Noel / Christmas in a store here, maybe I should see if someone can ship me one of these sets BTW - whatever you do, do not try that other new one they have. Will Google search the name, but it's essentially beer with some sort of tart fruity syrup added to it. Absolutely ghastly-tasting
Opted for caffeine over alcohol today. Tasting flight of three bottled iced coffees from Cape Town's Rosetta Roastery.
Botran 15, not overly sweet and one of the best rums I have recently tasted, it will be hard to share this one cheers! .
